Proposed R44/N1 Interchange Upgrade in Klapmuts

The Western Cape Department of Environmental Affairs and Development Planning (DEA&DP) has granted environmental authorisation and adopted the Maintenance Management Plan for the Proposed Upgrade of the R44/N1 Interchange in Klapmuts, in terms of the National Environmental Management Act, 1998 and the 2014 Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations (as amended). Water uses associated with the project have also been registered with the Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) under General Authorisation in terms of the National Water Act, 1998. 

The environmental authorisation is dated 24 July and was issued on 24 July 2025.
